Terms & Conditions

Overview

These Terms & Conditions apply when you use this website or place an order through Rinus’ Art. The store is operated by Rinus AB in Sweden.

Rinus’ Art is a small independent studio. I make the artwork, produce the prints, pack the orders, and handle correspondence myself. These terms are here to make the practical conditions of ordering clear, rather than to hide the process behind unnecessary legal language.

By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms, along with the Shipping Policy, Refund Policy, and Privacy Policy.

Products

Rinus’ Art sells map prints, art reproductions, books, and related printed works. Product descriptions, sizes, edition details, materials, and other relevant information are provided on the product pages.

I try to describe each product as accurately as possible. Please read the product information carefully before ordering, especially the size, edition type, paper, and whether the product is a Limited Edition or Regular Edition.

Colours may vary slightly between what you see on screen and the finished print. Screens emit light and differ widely in brightness, colour, and calibration, while a physical print depends on ink, paper, and the light in which it is viewed. This is normal and does not mean the product is defective.

Orders

When you place an order, you are responsible for providing accurate billing, shipping, and contact information. This includes your name, delivery address, email address, and any phone number required for shipping.

If an address is incomplete or incorrect, delivery may be delayed or fail. If a parcel is returned because of incorrect customer information, refusal to accept delivery, or failure to collect the parcel, additional shipping costs may apply before the order can be sent again.

An order is only accepted once payment has been completed and the order has been confirmed. I reserve the right to cancel or refund an order if there is a clear pricing error, stock issue, suspected fraud, or another practical reason that makes fulfilment impossible.

Prices & currency

Prices are displayed in USD unless stated otherwise. The checkout total shows the product price, shipping costs, and any charges collected by the store at checkout.

Exchange rates, card fees, or currency-conversion charges may be applied by your bank, card issuer, or payment provider. These charges are outside my control.

Prices may change over time. A later price change does not affect an order that has already been placed and confirmed, unless there was an obvious pricing or technical error.

Payment

Payment is taken through the payment methods available at checkout. Payment providers such as Stripe or other checkout services handle the secure payment process. I do not store full card details on this website.

Your order will not be processed until payment has been completed successfully. If payment fails or is reversed, the order may be cancelled.

Processing & shipping

Orders are normally processed and shipped within 7–14 business days. This gives me time to make, inspect, pack, and prepare the order properly. During busy periods or holidays, processing may take slightly longer.

Orders ship from Sweden. Most orders are sent with PostNord, though final delivery may be handled by a local postal service or carrier partner depending on the destination.

Delivery estimates are not guarantees. International shipping can be affected by customs handling, carrier delays, local delivery conditions, seasonal pressure, or events outside my control.

More detailed delivery information can be found in the Shipping Policy.

Customs & import charges

Orders shipped outside the European Union may be subject to customs duties, import VAT, taxes, tariffs, or carrier handling fees. These charges are set by the destination country and are the customer’s responsibility.

Such charges are not included in the checkout total unless explicitly stated otherwise during checkout. I cannot control whether they apply, how much they will be, or how long customs processing will take.

I complete customs information as accurately as possible. I cannot mark orders as gifts or declare a lower value than the actual order value.

Returns & refunds

Prints are delicate physical objects. Once a print has been shipped, unpacked, handled, repacked, and returned, I cannot guarantee that it still meets the same standard as when it first left the studio. For that reason, I do not accept change-of-mind returns for prints.

If an item arrives damaged or defective, please contact me as soon as possible and include your order number, clear photos of the item, and photos of the packaging. The packaging should be kept until the issue has been reviewed.

More detailed information can be found in the Refund Policy.

Limited Editions

Limited Edition prints are produced in fixed edition sizes. Once an edition has sold out, it will not be extended.

Each Limited Edition print is signed and numbered. Edition numbers may not be available in sequence, and I cannot always provide a specific number on request.

If a Limited Edition print is damaged in transit and a replacement is needed, replacement depends on available paper, stock, and edition numbers. If a direct replacement is not possible, I will discuss the available options with you.

Customer responsibility

After delivery, the customer is responsible for handling and storing the item with reasonable care. Prints should be handled carefully, kept away from moisture, direct sunlight, unnecessary pressure, and careless unrolling or flattening.

Damage caused by improper handling, framing, storage, or display after delivery is not treated as shipping damage or a product defect.

More information about handling and displaying prints can be found on the About the Prints page.

Intellectual property

All artwork, maps, images, product photography, writing, design elements, and other original material on this website are protected by copyright and other applicable rights unless stated otherwise.

Buying a print, book, or other product does not transfer copyright. You may not copy, reproduce, scan, redistribute, sell, license, upload, train machine-learning systems on, or otherwise use the artwork or website material without written permission.

Products are sold for personal use and display. Commercial use, reproduction, resale of copied material, or derivative production is not allowed without written agreement.

Tolkien-related work

Rinus’ Art is an independent artistic endeavour. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the Tolkien Estate, Middle‑earth Enterprises, Embracer Group, Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, Amazon, or any other rights holder connected to Tolkien’s works.

The Tolkien-inspired maps and artworks are made from personal admiration for the source material. Any references to Tolkien, Middle‑earth, Beleriand, or related names are used to describe the subject and inspiration of the work.

Website use

You may use this website for normal browsing, reading, and ordering. You may not use the site in a way that interferes with its operation, attempts to gain unauthorised access, copies large parts of the site automatically, or misuses the checkout, forms, reviews, or customer systems.

I try to keep the website accurate and functional, but I cannot guarantee that it will always be available without interruption, error, or technical issue.

Privacy

Personal information is handled according to the Privacy Policy. This includes information needed to process orders, take payment, ship products, answer messages, and maintain the website.

Changes

These Terms & Conditions may be updated when the website, store, products, services, or legal requirements change. The latest version published on this page applies to use of the website and store.
