Shipping Policy

Overview

Rinus’ Art ships from Sweden. I print, check, pack, and dispatch the orders myself, so shipping is not separated from the rest of the work. Before a print or book leaves the studio, I want to know that it has been inspected and packed properly.

Most orders are sent with PostNord. Depending on the destination, final delivery may be handled by a local postal service or courier partner. Once the parcel has left me, the delivery itself is in the hands of the carrier, but I will help where I can if something appears to have gone wrong.

Processing

Orders are normally processed and shipped within 7–14 business days. This gives me time to print, inspect, pack, and prepare the shipment properly. During busy periods, holidays, or when several large prints need to be made, processing may take slightly longer.

If there is a known delay, I will try to communicate this as clearly as possible. I would rather ship a little later than send something before I am satisfied with the print or the packing.

Delivery

Delivery times vary by destination, carrier network, customs handling, and seasonal pressure. The estimates shown below are intended as practical guidance, not guarantees.

Shipping is calculated automatically at checkout based on destination and order size. As a guide, shipping for 1–2 prints is usually:

  • Sweden: around $9
  • European Union: around $40
  • Outside the EU / USA: around $43

Shipping costs for a book are usually:

  • Sweden: around $9
  • European Union: around $20
  • Outside the EU / USA: around $20

These prices are indicative only; actual rates are set by PostNord and displayed at checkout.

International shipping can be unpredictable. A parcel may move quickly through one country and then remain without a scan for several days while it is between carriers, waiting for customs clearance, or moving through a local delivery network.

Carriers & tracking

Tracking availability depends on the destination and the service used. Some parcels can be followed throughout most of the journey, while others may show fewer updates after leaving Sweden or after being handed over to a local delivery partner.

If tracking seems inactive for a while, this does not always mean the parcel is lost. International parcels can spend time between scan points, especially during customs handling or transfer between postal networks. If the tracking has not moved for an unusually long time, you are welcome to contact me and I can look into it.

Customs

Orders shipped outside the European Union may be subject to customs duties, import VAT, taxes, tariffs, or carrier handling fees. These charges are set by the destination country and are the customer’s responsibility. Rinus’ Art cannot control whether they apply or how much they will be.

Orders within the European Union normally do not require customs handling in the same way as shipments sent outside the EU. For countries outside the EU, the parcel may need to pass through customs before delivery, and this can add both time and cost.

I complete the required customs information as accurately as possible. I cannot mark orders as gifts or declare a lower value than the actual order value.

United States

Orders delivered to the United States are shipped on a Delivered at Place (DAP) basis. This means import duties, taxes, tariffs, or carrier disbursement fees may be collected by the carrier on delivery, and are not included in the checkout total.

In personal experience so far, shipping prints to the United States has not resulted in customers being charged additional fees on delivery. This is not a guarantee, since customs rules and carrier handling can change, but it is worth mentioning because it reflects what I have actually seen with previous US orders.

Packing

Prints are packed carefully before they leave the studio. All prints are rolled with protective paper and placed in a sturdy shipping tube. Books and smaller items are packed according to their size and what I consider safest for transport.

The aim is to protect the print surface, edges, and corners without putting unnecessary pressure on the paper. I take packing seriously, because a good print can still be damaged by careless rolling or poor protection before it ever reaches the carrier.

Please keep the packaging until you have checked the order. If there is shipping damage, photos of both the packaging and the damaged item are needed to help resolve the issue.

Delays & damage

If a parcel is delayed, please check the tracking first. If the delay seems unusual, or if the tracking has not changed for a long time, contact me and include your order number. I can then check the shipment details and see what can be done.

If an order arrives damaged, please contact me as soon as possible. Keep the packaging, take clear photos of the outside of the parcel, the inside packaging, and the damaged item itself. This gives the best chance of resolving the matter with the carrier and deciding on the proper next step.

I pack orders with care, but shipping is still a physical journey through several hands, vehicles, sorting centres, and local delivery systems. If something goes wrong, I prefer to handle it plainly and fairly.

Questions

If there is anything you would like to ask before ordering, or if you have a question about an order already placed, you are welcome to contact me. Please include your order number if your question concerns an existing shipment.

You can use the form on the Contact page.
